With the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program terminated on January 24, 2025, no new refugee families are arriving in our region. That means our focus is on supporting those already here by helping them find jobs, gain stability, and build a future.

💰 We have just a few more months to cover rent while we work to get every household employed. Many families are searching for jobs, waiting for Social Security numbers, and adjusting to a new life. These families—many from Afghanistan, Iraq, Sudan, Yemen, Syria, Central African Republic, and South Sudan are making progress, but they need our help covering April rent as they transition to stability.

📢 This is particularly urgent for our region. This weekend, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported that after years of population decline, new immigrants are driving growth in Allegheny County. Refugees and immigrants strengthen our communities—but we need to ensure they have the support to succeed.

✨ Meet Four Families Working Toward Stability

🏠 Every family we support has a unique story, a journey filled with challenges and resilience. As we work to ensure each household finds employment and stability, we need your help covering rent for April to support them through this transition.

• A family of 10 from Afghanistan, including a 4-year-old and a newborn, who arrived in December. They are eager to begin working as soon as possible.
• A single mother who is blind and her two adult sons from Sudan, both actively seeking work. One son has already secured his first job, bringing hope for their future.
• A family of six from Syria, including a young child and parents with health challenges. One adult is job-seeking while they adjust to a new life.
• A family of six from the Central African Republic, with children aged 10-15. The mother is determined to find work to support the household.
