STAY TUNED FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO ORDER HOLIDAY COOKIES IN EARLY DECEMBER OR VALENTINE’S DAY SWEETS IN FEBRUARY.</em></strong></p> <p>After an overwhelmingly positive response last Thanksgiving when we sold over 250 dozen baklava (3,000 pieces), we are thrilled to announce that we are bringing back the Thanksgiving New Neighbor Cookie Table for the second year in a row!</p> <p>We will be partnering again this year with Syrian refugee women who will be baking their delicious handmade baklava, as well as other Middle Eastern treats, available in an assortment of varieties and packaging sizes.</p> <p>These women are incredible bakers. It’s made from cooked semolina or farina soaked in simple syrup, orange flower water or rose water can also be added and is topped with either pistachios or almonds.</li> <li><strong>Ghoriba</strong> is a round shortbread cookie made with flour, sugar, butter, and almonds. It is often served with Arab coffee or mint tea. It has been commonly found in Syria and Iraq since ancient times.</li> <li><strong>Osh El Bulbul</strong> is very fine stringy dough wrapped around pistachios or cashews and lightly fried. The name translates to ‘bird’s nest’ in English, as it’s circular shape and filamentary structure closely resemble that of a bird’s nest.
